Sweep Up Right Now

I’m the team leader of this project. I was mainly responsible for project management, level design, and music design. About the project management works, I set up a kick-off meeting at first to explain the competition requirements and brainstorm some ideas. After we confirmed our core gameplay, I wrote a GDD with more details to make sure everyone is in sync with what we will make. Then I divided the whole project into some simple parts and prioritized them to ensure we could finish the important parts first. I set up the weekly meeting as well, I arranged the specific work for every team member and solved the problems we met that week to make sure we were on track.
I also designed the levels. The core gameplay of our game is to put every item in the right place, it’s quite monotonous at first. So, I decided to add more interaction between players. In our first level, there are 2 same rooms for 2 players. the items of each player are in the other room. So, the players have to go to the other room and they may have more chance to interact with each other. On the second level, I decided to make something different. I designed a soccer field scene, and let players kick the items into the other goal. The rule is the same as the first level but it brings a new experience to players.
I made 2 pieces of music for this game, one is for the menu scene and the other is for the level scene. They have the same melody but different arrangements, the rhythm of level music is faster and it could bring a more intense feeling to players. The mood of the music is happy and fresh to match the lighthearted game genre.
